Gluten Free White Trash Snack Mix

This is a recipe I adapted from Aunt Edye's famous treat. Her tasty mixture is a highly addictive concoction that has been called, among other things: Christmas Crack, since she makes this a December holiday tradition.

The mix is now sold at Henri Bendel- a posh boutique that features it in fancy cellophane bagtied with ribbons and bows, tucked neatly inside of a small trash can.

My gluten free version is a close replica of the Aunt Edye Slutsky original.

1 Box Gluten Free Cheerios Type Cereal
1 Box Gluten Free Corn or Rice Chex Cereal
1 bottle dry roasted peanuts
1 container Gluten Free/Dye Free M&M style candies
1 Bag Gluten Free Pretzel Sticks
24 ounces white chocolate for melting

Spread parchment paper to line a few cookie sheets. This step will save you time in the dreaded clean up department. Assemble all the dry ingredients into a large mixing bowl
or foil catering pan as shown. Gently toss together to combine.

In a microwave pyrex glass bowl melt the white chocolate in stages to be sure you do not over melt it. Stir between each 30 second blast. When smooth and melted drizzle the chocolate over the mixand toss to coat. Repeat until all the dry parts are lightly coated and glazed white. Spread wet mix onto cookie sheets
and let harden at room temperature. When cooled, break up the White Trash mix into large chunks, clumps and nuggets. Seal in an airtight container or line a small plastic trash can with the goods. It is truly a guilty pleasure and the gluten free substitute for the original is just as addictive. You have been officially warned.
